Dr. Burzynski has been devoted to cancer treatment for his entire career, and has been doing it now for over 30 years. Burzynski noticed in his earliest studies that cancer patients had deficiencies of certain peptides in the blood when compared to a healthy person. In 1967 Dr. Burzynski developed something called Antineoplastons, and he has used them at his clinic for alternative cancer treatments ever since. He found that these Antineoplastons target cancer cells specifically and do not target normally functioning cells in the body. This is how the name came to be, because these target only neoplastic cells (cancerous cells).
Antineoplastons are a mixture of peptides, organic acids and amino acid derivatives. Burzynski first isolated these from blood and urine, and now are produced synthetically for medical use. Antineoplastons work by turning on tumor suppressor genes and turning off oncogenes, which both result in causing the abnormal cell to die off. This therapy seems to work very well, but you wouldn’t know this from listening to the officials.

There is no convincing evidence from randomized controlled trials in the scientific literature that antineoplastons are useful treatments of cancer and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved these products for the treatment of any disease. The American Cancer Society has stated that there is no evidence that these products have any beneficial effects in cancer and have recommended that people do not buy these products. A recent medical review described this treatment as a “disproven therapy”.
This is the sort of disinformation that the FDA and the Pharmaceutical companies want out there. They want people to be scared of a treatment like this, because it is safe and it works! They want people to think Burzynski and others like him are a fraud, because then people will pay for pharmaceutical drugs! This is how the system works in America. When any “alternative” therapies are both proven to work and start to go mainstream in any way, they are shut down and labeled fraudulent. They are under the covers with each other, and the FDA is used with their power to manipulate the situation in order to keep the Pharmaceutical companies in business.
After many success stories with using Antineoplastons, multiple indictments were raised against Burzynski from the FDA from 1988 to 1995. No fault was found with each case. Then finally on November 25th 1995 the FDA charged Burzynski with 75 counts of violating federal law and Fraud.
