Livestock in conventional slaughter houses are literally tortured until death. Here are some links that show you what you may be supporting when you buy non-organic products from your local grocery store. I do not mean to throw these at people and to support watching acts of animal cruelty, but in order for people to change and start thinking about what they are supporting when they purchase something then videos like these have got to be shown to the public. I find these very hard to watch myself, although I can get through with watching them if I must. You will not see these sorts of things unless you go looking for them, or happen to stumble upon them by accident. Even then you probably won’t believe them. The mass producers that do not care about animal welfare do not want this information to be known about. They only care about protecting their profits. If you find these links hard to watch even to the slightest degree then you do in fact take this to heart and you should make a choice to change your product selection. Buy at least Organic meat and dairy products to support animal welfare.

What can you do? Buy local! Find local farms that do not support these types of practices and buy meat from them in shares. Look for farmers or products that have been “pasture fed”. Pastured meats and products means that you have supported a farmer doing all that they can for their livestock. Pastured products also contain the most nutrition for you! Pastured livestock is outside, they are eating grass, they are getting sunlight, they are happy because they have nothing to not be happy about! They are in their natural environment. This all means better meats and animal products with more nutritional value for you, making you a healthier human being.
You can also buy Organic meats and animal products, because Organic Farmers should not do these sorts of things to their livestock. YOU have the ability along with everyone else to influence and change the industry and the way people think. The products that are sold on the shelves can definitely be made better, and will be if enough people start demanding better food and supporting good practices when dealing with animals.
People can change the world if the information is given to them, so please educate yourself about this and pass it along to others!!
